The future Namur-Hippodrome neighborhood, located in Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, will undergo a major transformation over the coming years. The Master Land Use and Development Plan (PDAD) is a planning document that embodies Montréal’s vision for the future of the Namur-Hippodrome area. The PDAD will guide public intervention and provide a framework for real estate development projects.

The PDAD was created based on needs expressed by the community and is consistent with several city plans and policies.

The public consultation is now completed : thank you for your participation!

A public consultation was held in spring 2024. The consultation allowed the City of Montreal to collect written opinions, comments and briefs of everyone interested to express their views on the PDAD.

The Institut du Nouveau Monde (INM) has analyzed the submitted opinions during the summer and published the consultation report. Based on the report, modifications are currently being made to proceed to the final adoption of the PDAD by the City Council.

    Namur-Hippodrome neighborhood

    The future Namur-Hippodrome neighborhood is in Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, in the centre of the island of Montréal.

    The Namur-Hippodrome neighborhood is comprised of the former hippodrome site (46 ha) and the lands around the Namur metro station, for a total area spanning about 95 ha.

    The PDAD
    The PDAD is a planning document that embodies Montréal’s vision for the future of the Namur-Hippodrome area. It is the culmination of several years of studies, analyses and consultation efforts. It is intended for anyone interested in finding out more about the development of this future living environment. The opinions and needs expressed in previous consultations have made it possible to draft the PDAD.

    The City of Montreal invites you to read the consultation report on the Master Land Use and Development Plan (PDAD) of the future Namur-Hippodrome neighborhood.

    Written by the Institut du Nouveau Monde (INM), the report outlines opinions expressed by citizens and different stakeholders. INM has compiled important subjects, including:

    • Biodiversity and social-ecological transition

    • Mobility and transport

    • Housing

    The city wishes to thank everyone who has participated in the information and consultation activities and/or submitted a written brief in spring 2024.

    A public information session was held on May 15, 2024, at 7pm (doors open at 6pm), at the Courtyard by Mariott hotel, 6787 boulevard Décarie. The session allowed people to ask questions about the Namur-Hippodrome neighborhood.
