The Committee on economic and urban development and housing (Commission sur le développement économique et urbain et l’habitation) is consulting Montrealers regarding Montréal’s Nightlife policy.

Nightlife is a cornerstone of Montréal’s creative, lively and unique identity.

The city is seeking to consolidate its position as a large metropolis, namely through an inspiring, structuring and inclusive nightlife policy.

Is this topic of interest to you? Help the standing committee reflect on the best tools to elaborate a functional and regulatory framework based on the harmonious coexistence of a variety of nightlife activities for the broadest audience.

To participate:

Read the draft Nightlife Policy, then:

•     Register as soon as possible to present your opinion to the committee.

•     Provide a brief summary of your ideas and suggestions in the Idea box.

•     Fill out the form (in French - please visit www.realisonsmtl.ca/politique-vie-nocturne).

    Montréal’s draft Nightlife Policy has been presented during a public information session held on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, in the council chamber of the Montréal city hall.

    Until March 22, 2024, you could express your opinion regarding the city’s Nightlife Policy using the method that best suits your needs:


    1. Briefly summarize your idea in the Idea box;

    1. Fill out the survey;

    1. Submit an opinion by email, by mail or in person to the city clerk’s office;

    2. Register to present your opinion to the committee during the public hearings.

    The public hearings are available on a delayed basis and you can watch them:

    Once the committee has read or heard all the opinions, it will formulate recommendations.

    These recommendations were made public and adopted during a public meeting which took place on Monday April 29, 2024. You may watch a recording of the meeting.
