Age-friendly Municipality (AFM) Initiative

Take part in the Age-friendly Municipality (AFM) initiative!

The City of Montreal has been recognized as an “Age-friendly Municipality” (AFM) since 2012. In Quebec, an AFM municipality:

1. Combats ageism
2. Adapts its policies, services and structures
3. Adopts a comprehensive and integrated approach
4. Encourages senior participation
5. Relies on collaborative partnerships and the mobilization of the whole community

To maintain this recognition, the City of Montreal is updating its commitments to seniors, in keeping with the Age-friendly Municipality (AFM) initiative.
