    Develop the future refrigerated skating rink projected in Pointe-aux-Trembles into a versatile, four-season facility by adding a roof and other necessary equipment. In addition to enjoying fall and springtime skating regardless of the weather, users would be able to practice various activities rain or shine. These could include deck hockey, pickleball, basketball or ballroom dancing.

    YOUTH SEAL ✓

    Develop or redevelop a soccer field in Ville-Marie, including surrounding infrastructures (lighting, bleachers, etc.). The borough’s citizens will enjoy good playing conditions, which will further encourage an active lifestyle.

    • Ville -Marie (Parc Jos-Montferrand or Parc Rutherford)

    Budget: $3.58 million

    Create small areas closed to vehicular traffic, where young and old could learn to ride a bike. Fun circuits would represent a miniature reproduction of our road system, with street markings and street signs. More elaborate circuits will also be configured for skill development.

    • Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension (Parc Ovila-Légaré, Parc Sainte-Lucie, and Rue Clark in the Parc-Extension north district)

    Install equipment to improve accessibility for people living with reduced mobility to the city’s indoor and outdoor pools:
    - access to buildings
    - entrance halls
    - universal changing rooms
    - accessible washrooms

    • Anjou (Parc des Roseraies pool and other park chalets adjacent to aquatic facilities)
    • Le Plateau-Mont-Royal (Centre du Plateau pool and other pools that do not currently offer accessible facilities)
    • L’Île-Bizard–Sainte-Geneviève (the pools in Parc Eugène-Dostie and Parc Robert-Sauvé)
    • Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles (the pool in Parc Saint-Georges and the Centre aquatique de Rivière-des-Prairies)
    • Saint-Léonard (Complexe aquatique de Saint-Léonard)

    Budget: $8.52 million

    Install ramps, stair lifts or other necessary equipment at various Montréal pools, so that users living with functional limitations can easily access the water, cool down and enjoy the pool safely.

    • Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce (pools in Parc de la Confédération and Parc Martin-Luther-King, Centre sportif Côte-des-Neiges and Centre sportif Notre-Dame-de-Grâce and the pool at the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce community centre)
    • LaSalle (specific locations to be determined)
    • Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (pools that currently do not offer accessible facilities)
    • Montréal-Nord (outdoor pools – specific locations to be determined)
    • Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie (Complexe aquatique de Rosemont, the pools in Parc Père-Marquette, Parc Pélican and Parc Joseph-Paré)
    • Saint-Laurent (the pool in Parc Painter)

    Make four outdoor pools universally accessible, for instance by configuring progressive, or beach entry slopes. The lounging areas around these pools could also be reconfigured, making them accessible for the entire population to enjoy and relax in.

    Renovate certain aquatic facilities for all citizens to use autonomously and without difficulty, whether to relax, swim or just enjoy the water, irrespective of their abilities.

    Develop rest areas and install new equipment for bikers in seven boroughs across the city. This project will make biking more enjoyable, namely by adding:

    - rest areas
    - improved signalling and lighting in certain areas
    - bike repair stations
    - water fountains
    - lockers to park bikes safely

    • Outremont (exit of Édouard-Montpetit metro station, MIL district)
    • Pierrefonds–Roxboro (near the REM)

    • Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie (des Carrières bike path)

    Add landscaping to the curb extensions along the streets that cross Rue Notre-Dame Est. This will allow for a more enjoyable and safer walk along this street.

    Create “school squares” in three boroughs, where segments of streets near schools will be landscaped with additional vegetation, and measures will be taken to slow traffic for children to get around safely. Urban furniture and additional vegetation will also make the squares aesthetically pleasing. During the summer months, the plants and trees will provide protection from heat, to avoid temperatures rising more than in other areas of the city. These squares will become play and meeting areas of neighborhood residents.
